There are other hypotheses of Second Language Acquisition besides Krashen's 5 Hypotheses, there is also Interaction Hypotheses and Comprehensible Output Hypotheses.
Interaction Hypotheses
Comprehensible Output Hypotheses
This hypotheses was introduced by Merril Swain in the late 1980's. Swain stated her hypotheses in response to Steven Krashen's 5 hypotheses. In her hypotheses she explains that when a learner encounters a gap in their linguistic knowledge of their second language, that's where the learning happens. Learners learn when language is heard and when they speak it, they can hear their mistakes.

Common Underlying Proficiency (CUP)
James Cummins believed that people who already have a first language, their native tongue are able to acquire another language by transferring their skills to learning their second language. This made him believe that language learners can acquire a language a lot faster since they already have an established content knowledge with their first language.
